Whether You Are Driving. . .
Most of our guests cross the border from International Falls, MN into Fort Frances. Take Hwy 11 East to Hwy 502 North to Dryden. Travel through Dryden past the paper mill over the railroad tracks to the Hwy 17 intersection. Take a left at this set of lights heading West on 17. Take a right at the very next set of lights heading North on Hwy 601.
The last leg of the trip will take you a little over an hour to complete over 42 miles of marginally maintained gravel road. Follow Hwy 601 North for 6. 5 miles to an intersection where the paved road turns right. Our first sign(along with a sign for the ski club) will direct you straight ahead. Follow this gravel road about 1 mile and make a right turn onto the beginning of the paper company road. Continue on for 10 miles to the railroad tracks and another 3 miles to a Y junction turn(mile 13) . Take the left fork 5. 8 miles to the next Y junction(mile 19) . Take the right fork 6. 7 miles to the final right turn. Follow this narrower road for 4. 7 miles to the end of the road and the lodge. There are white finger board signs along the way to ensure that you make the proper turns.
Or Flying. . .
Guests piloting their own plane use Dryden Airport as point of entry into Canada. The facility offers customs, a modern air terminal, a 6, 200 ft. Paved
runway, aviation fuels, ILS and parking with tie downs.
Those wishing to charter a flight into Dryden can call for further details.
Another economical alternative is to travel on one of Northwest Airline’s connections from Minneapolis to International Falls, MN. Rental cars are available at the International Falls airport and the remaining drive to the lodge is a scenic 3 hour trip.
